The Lakes Unit: A Behavioral Care Unit will be accepting admissions and referrals beginning February 19th, 2019.
Behavioral Care Unit Criteria
Has a primary dx of a psychiatric disorder (e.g., schizophrenia, major recurrent depression, and bipolar, delusional, or schizo-affective disorders) or other chronic psychiatric disorder
Is not a danger to self or others but may exhibit antisocial or other behaviors
Is able to ambulate independently with or without an assistive device.
Is able to pivot transfer, without mechanical lifts
Meets the assessment criteria of the PASARR II, requiring placement in a nursing home
Is eligible for placement according to the Level of Care Determination process
Is able to give informed consent or has been adjudicated incompetent by a court of law and assigned a guardian or has Durable Power of Attorney with healthcare clause
*This would exclude alcohol and substance abuse, primary dx of Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia resulting from organic or physical disorders.

The reason I chose Medilodge of Lansing is because my sister was here and she had excellent care. Also, my mother was here as well and she too had excellent care. The therapy department is excellent I mean all of them. My aide Cathy and Isora are great and you could not ask for anything better!
I have had no problem waiting for help as soon as I turn on my call light they are in right away. I plan on having another surgery this year and will definitely be coming back to Medilodge.
